UCLA Life Sciences Public Lecture Series: May 17,2011 “A Fly’s Eye View of Sensory Integration and Biomechanics” Dr. Mark Frye Dr. Mark Frye is an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology at UCLA. The focus of Dr. Fyre’s research is the study of the biomechanics of flight of the fruit fly. Dr. Frye has received numerous awards and honors from such prestigious organizations as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the W.M Keck Foundation, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. He received his Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Washington and was a postdoctoral fellow at CalTech and the University of California at Berkeley.
