*Students may take either the Chem 14 or the Chem 20/30 series. Physical Science majors are required to take the Chem 20/30 series and the Math 31 series. If you are not sure which Chemistry series to take, remember that the 14 series was designed for Life Science majors and the 20/30 series was designed for Physical Science majors. If you are thinking about becoming a Physical Science major, take the Chem 20/30 series. Most health professions graduate schools accept either series to fulfill the Chemistry requirement. The Chem 20/30 series is recommended for students interested in Pharmacy school.

GE = General Education - usually lower division.
UD Elective = Upper Division elective - any course numbered 100-199.

Students are required to take 60 UD units as part of the College of Letters & Science requirements. The Physiological Science major will satisfy approximately 52 UD units, which means that you may need to take about 2-3 UD electives outside of the major.
