Research Interests

End stage renal disease (ESRD), the permanent loss of kidney function, is a threat to healthcare across the industrialized world. Currently, the preferred treatment for ESRD is kidney transplantation, but this option is limited by the shortage of donor organs, and complications associated with rejection and immunosuppression. The goal of my research is to develop methods that can help to expand the therapeutic options for treating ESRD.
